Bodies of two workers found in Odisha blackstone mine collapse
Bhubaneswar, May 18: In the blackstone mine collapse in Odisha, rescue personnel have recovered the bodies of two workers from the rubble. Earlier this morning, machinery had been found, but the workers were not located at that time.
At least one person has died, and many are feared trapped after the mine collapsed in Jajpur district on Thursday. The incident occurred at the Dankari hills under Dharmashala tehsil.
Sources indicate that the collapse happened during ongoing work when the soil suddenly caved in. It is believed that the labourers were buried under a landslide of large rocks from the hill. Locals who witnessed the collapse immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving the information, fire service personnel and police arrived at the scene and began a rescue operation. Yesterday, one worker's body was recovered, and efforts are continuing to rescue others who may be trapped.
Officials from Dharmashala Tehsil and an NDRF team are present at the site, with the rescue operation still ongoing. More detailed reports on the incident are awaited.
