IMD forecasts continued thunderstorms and rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Thunderstorms and rain will continue in Odisha for the next three days, while some areas in northern Odisha are likely to experience heatwave conditions.
The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported in its mid-day bulletin that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph are expected at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal on Wednesday. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning are likely in Sundargarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected in parts of south interior Odisha, coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sundargarh, with dry weather prevailing in other districts.
YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal. Thunderstorms with lightning are also likely in Sundargarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected in coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput, with dry weather in other districts.
