PM Modi and CM Patnaik call for voter engagement as fourth phase of general elections begins

Bhubaneswar, May 13: India is immersed in the grandeur of democracy today as the fourth phase of the 2024 General Elections unfolds across 10 states and Union Territories.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik have both urged every eligible voter to partake in this festival of democracy by exercising their invaluable right to vote.
Prime Minister Modi, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handles, encouraged citizens, stating, "Voting is underway today for 96 seats across 10 states and union territories in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. I am confident that people will turn out in large numbers, particularly the youth and women voters. Let's fulfill our duty and fortify democracy!"
He reiterated his call for participation in the Odisha Assembly elections, asserting, "Assembly elections are commencing in Odisha today. I urge the people of the state to assert their voting rights. Your vote is your voice – make it heard loud and clear."
Similarly, Odisha CM and BJD leader Naveen Patnaik emphasized the importance of voting, tweeting, "Every vote you cast strengthens the pillars of democracy and steers the course of development. Join the grand celebration of democracy by casting your ballots in the General Election 2024."
The ongoing polling for the fourth phase of the General Elections 2024 encompasses states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. In Odisha, voting is underway across four Lok Sabha Constituencies, namely Berhampur, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi.
