Odisha Police apprehend main suspect in alleged rape and murder case of class IV student

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Police has recently apprehended the primary suspect in the alleged rape and murder case of a Class IV student from Bainibas village in Muniguda, Rayagada district. The accused, identified as Harish Ram hailing from Bihar, was captured in Delhi.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded when a 10-year-old girl from Bainibas village went missing on the morning of March 4. Her disappearance was discovered by her parents, who had last seen her sleeping after dinner the previous night. Despite exhaustive searches within the village and its vicinity, the girl remained untraceable.
\Subsequently, her father, Judhistir Kadraka, filed a formal complaint with the Muniguda police station. On March 17, villagers stumbled upon a decomposed body in the forest near the village while tending to their goats. Upon identification by Kadraka, the deceased was confirmed to be his daughter, recognized by the clothing she was last seen wearing.
Although the body's condition hindered a thorough examination for injuries, forensic teams gathered all possible evidence from the scene. The investigation led authorities to Harish Ram, a worker at the village's water tank, who had been missing since the day of the incident. Following a search operation, Harish was apprehended in Delhi.
