Four more arrests made in Laxmisagar murder case
Bhubaneswar, March 22: Four additional suspects have been apprehended by Laxmisagar police in connection with the Chintamaniswar murder case.
The arrests were made following a police raid at a lodge in Cuttack. Earlier, on Monday, law enforcement had detained two individuals, including the primary suspect, linked to the homicide of Anjan Behera.
According to sources, Anjan, a friend of Goutam, accompanied him to meet a girl after attending a gathering on the night of March 15. Goutam, who was romantically involved with the girl, was attacked by Pinku, another suitor of the girl, with a sword while conversing with her. In an attempt to shield Goutam, Anjan sustained severe injuries.
Anjan was promptly rushed to Capital Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. The principal accused, Kanha Pradhan, also known as Pinku, was apprehended along with his girlfriend, identified as Niharika.
Anjan's mother lodged a formal complaint at Laxmisagar Police Station, prompting the investigation.
