Balasore, March 15:  On Friday, a woman was tragically reported to have perished in a fire at Rasalpur village, within the jurisdiction of Bhograi police limits in Balasore district.

The deceased has been identified as Archana, the wife of Bhaskar Behera. According to sources, the incident unfolded when Archana was discovered crying for help within their ablaze home in the morning. Villagers alerted the authorities upon witnessing the distressing scene. Allegedly, the conflict between Archana and Bhaskar escalated after their two sons departed for school, ultimately leading to Archana's outcry for assistance.

Upon receiving the villagers' distress call, both the Bhograi police and the fire brigade promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. Amidst the chaos, authorities recovered Archana's charred remains.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated by the police to locate the husband, who is currently absconding. Sources indicate that police inquiries are focused on determining whether Archana's demise resulted from self-immolation or if her husband is implicated in the tragic incident.
