Odisha unveils 22 new NACs across 13 districts

Bhubaneswar, March 13: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the establishment of 22 additional Notified Area Councils (NACs) across 13 districts, along with the elevation of Bhanjnagar NAC in Ganjam district to municipality status.
The newly designated NACs encompass areas such as Manmunda, Old Cuttack, and Banshuni in Boudh district; Loisingha and Sindhekela in Bolangir district; Sohela in Bargarh district; Baliapal and Kheira in Balasore district; Dhamra in Bhadrak district; Rasod in Dhenkanal district; Narla in Kujang, Kalahandi in Jagatsinghpur; and Madanpur, Rampur, Bolgad, Nayagarh, Sharankul, Puri, Kakatpur, Rengali, and Bamanda, Sambalpur. Also, Subalya, Ulunda, and Rampur in Subarnapur district have been included.
This strategic decision, driven by public feedback and the imperative for progress, was influenced by the visits of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Karthik Pandian to various districts. Responding to rising demands, population growth, and economic aspirations, the Chief Minister's initiative aims at fostering development in these regions.
Patnaik expressed optimism that these newly formed councils would actively contribute to the holistic advancement of their respective areas. This announcement follows last month's declaration by the Chief Minister of forming 35 additional NACs and five new municipalities.
