Padma awardees in Odisha to receive monthly Rs 25,000

Bhubaneswar, March 13: The Odisha government announced on Wednesday its decision to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 to distinguished individuals from the state who have been honored with Padma awards, among the highest civilian recognitions in India.
Padma Awards, comprising Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, are conferred upon eminent personalities annually for their exceptional contributions to the nation.
In a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, it was highlighted that the recipients of Padma awards from Odisha have brought immense pride to the state through their remarkable talents and service. The decision to grant them a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 starting from April of the current year is a testament to their significant contributions to society, as acknowledged by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
