Naveen introduces BSKY Nabin Card

Bhubaneswar, March 6: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik introduced the BSKY Nabin Card in the state on Wednesday. This initiative aims to provide benefits to all villagers, excluding regular government employees and income taxpayers. Distribution of the card commenced on Wednesday, with beneficiaries set to receive benefits starting May. The scheme falls under the 5T initiative of the state government.
During the launch, Chief Minister Patnaik expressed, "All 4.5 crore people of Odisha are my family. I have always stood by you in your joys and sorrows. Your happiness is my happiness."
Emphasizing the importance of a healthy society for a prosperous nation, Patnaik reiterated his commitment to the well-being of the state's citizens, stating, "I have and will always work for the welfare of my family members."
It's noteworthy that over one crore families in the state, constituting 80% of the population, already benefit from cashless medical services under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), with coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh for women and Rs 5 lakh for other family members. Currently, 130,000 beneficiaries receive treatment monthly in 816 registered private hospitals, with the state government allocating over Rs 270 crore for this purpose.
Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted that the BSKY Nabin Card aims to extend coverage to more families under this scheme, furthering the state's commitment to healthcare accessibility.
