Odisha introduces automated driving test stations for transparent licensing process

Bhubaneswar, March 6: The Odisha Transport department has initiated the deployment of Automated Driving Test Stations (ADTS) across six Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in the state, marking a significant step towards enhancing transparency in the licensing process.
The rollout of this new facility has commenced at RTOs located in Ganjam, Chandikhole, Rourkela, Angul, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar. According to a senior official, ADTS will soon be operational at all 38 RTOs statewide.
This development follows the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' (MoRTH) introduction of software designed to automate the entire driving license test procedure. As part of this initiative, state-of-the-art cameras will be deployed to meticulously capture every aspect of an applicant’s performance during their driving examination. Leveraging the data collected by these cameras, the software will objectively evaluate the results, determining a pass or fail based on the applicant’s driving proficiency.
Employing innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, this system aims to eradicate human intervention, ensuring precise and expeditious outcomes for driving assessments.
