Odisha's Central University gets boost: PM Modi inaugurates Rs 129 crore projects

Koraput, Feb 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, marked the commencement of various infrastructure endeavors, including the construction of the Administrative Building at the Central University of Odisha (CUO), with a total project outlay of Rs 129 crore.
The event, held online, unfolded at the CUO Campus in Sunabeda, graced by the presence of the University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof Chakradhar Tripathi, along with Kalahandi MP Basant Kumar Panda and other distinguished guests.
Despite being physically situated in Jammu, Prime Minister Modi remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several infrastructure projects, making the occasion accessible to the entire nation, including the Central University of Odisha.
In conjunction with the virtual proceedings, a gathering convened on the Campus premises. The University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof Chakradhar Tripathi, MP Basant Kumar Panda, and acting Registrar Prof Narasing Charan Panda were among the dignitaries present.
Addressing the assembly, MP Panda extended congratulations to the University community for securing the project sanction and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the approval. He emphasized the significance of perseverance, urging students to uphold the principles of dedication and focus in their academic pursuits. MP Panda highlighted the role of devotion (Bhakti) in fostering academic excellence, envisioning a resurgence of India's educational prowess akin to the renowned ancient institutions of Nalanda and Takshashila.
