Tragedy strikes as Class 10 student allegedly commits suicide ahead of board exams

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: A harrowing incident unfolded in Balangir as a Class 10 student of Biswatma Vidya Mandir, identified as Binayak Pradhan, reportedly took his own life mere hours before the scheduled commencement of the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations. Sources suggest that exam-related anxiety may have driven him to this tragic decision.
Binayak, a resident student of the Balangir-based residential school, was set to sit for his Class 10 board exam on the fateful day. However, he was found lifeless in the hostel bathroom late at night, having apparently hung himself.
Upon discovery, school authorities promptly rushed him to the hospital, but tragically, medical professionals declared him deceased upon arrival. In response to a complaint filed by his grieving family members, the Sadar police initiated an investigation, retrieving Binayak's body for further examination.
