LAccMI bus service launched in Subarnapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Sambalpur districts

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took a significant step towards enhancing the connectivity of public transportation by inaugurating the Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) bus service in five additional districts. Utilizing video conferencing, he initiated the affordable bus service in Subarnapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Sambalpur districts.
Expressing his views during the launch, the Chief Minister emphasized the pivotal role of the LAccMI bus service in facilitating rural residents' daily activities at a minimal cost. He highlighted its potential to streamline daily life journeys and contribute to household prosperity.
Acknowledging the importance of public opinion, Patnaik underscored that government initiatives, including the LAccMI bus service, are rooted in the needs of the common people. The scheme, conceived after recognizing the transportation challenges faced by rural communities, aims to address communication gaps effectively.
The rollout of the LAccMI bus service across Subarnapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Sambalpur districts encompasses a fleet of 205 buses serving 700 panchayats. Notably, over 4.4 million individuals have already reaped the benefits of this initiative.
In Subarnapur, 58 buses have significantly improved the lives of 573,000 residents across 102 panchayats. Similarly, in Cuttack, 48 buses have catered to the transportation needs of 1.837 million people in 261 panchayats. Jharsuguda witnessed the positive impact of 16 buses on 562,000 individuals across 76 panchayats, while in Kandhamal, 52 buses have benefitted 730,000 residents in 164 panchayats. Additionally, Sambalpur has seen 31 buses serving 728,000 people, enhancing accessibility and connectivity in the region.
