BJD leaders Debashish Samantaray and Subhasish Khuntia file Rajya Sabha nominations
Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: BJD contenders Debashish Samantaray and Subhasish Khuntia have formally entered the race for the Rajya Sabha elections today.
Their nominations were lodged with the State Assembly's returning officer in the esteemed presence of BJD's chief Naveen Patnaik, along with prominent figures like Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha and Health Minister Niranjan Pujari.
The party has publicly endorsed these two candidates for the upper house, while withholding the announcement of the other two nominees. Debashish Samantaray, the former MLA of Barabati-Cuttack, leads as the BJD's district unit president in Cuttack. Meanwhile, Subasish Khuntia currently holds the position of State vice president within Biju Yuva Janata Dal.
