Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: In a tragic incident, a young girl tragically lost her life after being struck by a school bus at Khandagiri Chhak on Monday.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred as the girl and her mother were crossing the road. As they traversed in front of Ramamani Petrol Pump, the mother fell onto the road after being struck by a motorcyclist from behind. In an attempt to assist her mother, the young girl, who was a few steps ahead, rushed to her aid. Unfortunately, at that moment, a school bus approaching from behind collided with the girl, resulting in her immediate demise.

Following the accident, the driver of the school bus fled the scene. However, authorities from the Khandagiri police have taken custody of the deceased's body.

The victim, approximately 16 years old and hailing from the Puri area, was a student residing at the Arabinda Hostel in the Khandagiri locality.
