IMD predicts light showers across Odisha in coming days

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: Despite a notable drop in temperatures across Odisha offering relief from the chill, the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light rainfall in several districts over the next two days.
Light showers have been reported in isolated areas of Balasore and some parts of the northern coastal region of Odisha, while dry conditions persist in the remaining districts.
In terms of fog, shallow to moderate fog has been observed in a few locations throughout Odisha, with denser fog noted in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Cuttack.
Minimum temperatures have seen a noticeable increase in certain areas of north interior Odisha and sporadically across coastal and south interior Odisha. However, there hasn't been significant change elsewhere in the districts.
Temperatures have been appreciably below normal in some areas, markedly above normal in others in the interior, and above normal or normal in most districts. The highest maximum temperature of 32.0°C was recorded in Paralakhemundi and Bhawanipatna, while the lowest minimum temperature of 12.5°C was noted in Phulani, situated in the plains of Odisha.
