Police constable arrested in alleged Rs 30 lakh robbery conspiracy

Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: A constable serving in Odisha Police has been apprehended for his suspected involvement in a robbery conspiracy amounting to Rs 30 lakh in the Paralakhemundi region of Gajapati district.
Constable Tanuj Kumar Sabat, also the President of the Gajapati District Constable Association, has been suspended from duty following the registration of a case on January 25, where he stands accused under sections 120-B/394 of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, another individual identified as Rajesh from Saluru area in Andhra Pradesh has been detained in connection with the robbery case.
Reports indicate that on the evening of January 25, the Paralakhemundi Town police received information regarding an alleged incident where an individual attempted to snatch a bag containing cash from someone near Kerandi village. In response, law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene and launched an investigation based on a complaint lodged by Ravindranath, a resident of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
