Odisha braces for three days of light rain as IMD issues forecast amidst dense fog

Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: Despite the occurrence of dense fog in various parts of Odisha on Thursday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the likelihood of light rain or thundershowers in multiple locations over the next three days.
The IMD reported predominantly dry weather across most areas in Odisha, with exceptions of light to moderate rainfall in a few spots in Mayurbhanj, Sundarnagar, Keonjhar, and Puri on Wednesday. Notable rainfall amounts were recorded in Bahalda (Mayurbhanj), Raurkela (Sundargarh), and Panposh (Sundargarh). Additionally, shallow to moderate fog was observed in certain places in Odisha, while dense to very dense fog affected specific locations in Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, and Nayagar.
The minimum temperatures experienced a significant drop in a couple of places in north coastal Odisha, while a marked rise was noted in one or two locations, with an appreciable increase in north interior Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 32.8°C was documented in Paralakhemundi, while the lowest minimum temperature of 12.5°C was registered in Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.
