CM Naveen gives nod to in-stream storage projects in Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj
Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tofday granted approval for two in-stream storage structures, allocating a total of Rs 86.25 crore for the development projects in Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj districts.
The first in-stream storage initiative, estimated at Rs 41.25 crore, will be implemented on Murali Jor in Kalahandi district, while the second project, projected to cost Rs 45 crore, will be situated on the Gangahar river in Mayurbhanj district.
VK Pandian, the Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, received proposals for both projects during his visit to the respective districts, where they were put forth by the public.
Officials emphasized the multifaceted benefits of these projects, highlighting their role in augmenting drinking water resources, promoting fish farming, facilitating animal husbandry, and replenishing groundwater levels. The approval of these initiatives underscores the commitment of the state government to address essential aspects of water resource management and rural development.
