PM Modi Meets BJP’s New National Team, Calls for Stronger Organisation and Public Connect
NEW DELHI, August 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi and interacted with the party’s newly appointed national office-bearers, as the organisation begins work under its new leadership team.
Prime Minister Modi was received at the BJP headquarters by party president Nitin Nabin. During the meeting, the Prime Minister held a cordial interaction with the newly appointed leaders and discussed organisational matters. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the new office-bearers to exchange views and understand the priorities of the party leadership.
Following the interaction, photographs of the meeting were shared on social media. Prime Minister Modi said organisational meetings provide an important platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives. He emphasised the significance of strengthening the party’s organisational structure and maintaining a close connection with people across the country.
The meeting assumes significance as the BJP has recently announced a revamped national team under Nitin Nabin. The new organisational structure brings together experienced leaders as well as several new faces, reflecting an effort to combine continuity with fresh energy.
The BJP’s new team includes leaders assigned responsibilities as national general secretaries, vice presidents, secretaries and other office-bearers. Several prominent political figures have been given important organisational roles, while a number of younger leaders have also been inducted into the national setup.
Among the key appointments is former Union minister Smriti Irani, who has returned to the BJP’s national organisation as a general secretary. Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also been appointed a national general secretary. BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh continues in his existing role, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed national treasurer.
The reshuffle also includes experienced leaders such as former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and Ram Madhav, who have been assigned responsibilities as national vice presidents. The composition of the new team reflects representation from different regions and political backgrounds.
Earlier, BJP president Nitin Nabin held an introductory meeting with members of his new team. The party is expected to focus on strengthening its grassroots network, improving coordination among organisational units and expanding its outreach among different sections of society.
The BJP is also preparing for upcoming electoral challenges, making organisational mobilisation a key priority. Party leaders are expected to work on strengthening booth-level networks, communicating government initiatives and increasing interaction with voters.
The inclusion of new leaders in the national team is also expected to bring fresh perspectives to the party’s organisational functioning. At the same time, the presence of experienced leaders is intended to provide continuity and institutional knowledge.
Prime Minister Modi’s meeting with the new office-bearers comes at an important stage for the BJP as it seeks to further consolidate its organisational network. His emphasis on fresh ideas, stronger public engagement and effective organisational functioning is expected to guide the party’s activities in the coming months.
The interaction concluded with a group photograph featuring Prime Minister Modi, BJP president Nitin Nabin and the newly appointed national office-bearers, marking a significant first engagement between the Prime Minister and the party’s new national organisational team.
