Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: VK Pandian, the former chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha on Monday, officially joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal Odisha (BJD). The joining ceremony took place in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other senior party leaders. The specific role or position that Pandian will undertake within the party is yet to be disclosed.

It's noteworthy that VK Pandian, a retired IAS officer and former secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, stepped down from his IAS position in October. Subsequently, he assumed the role of chairman for the 5T and Nabin Odisha programs in the state.

Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik welcomed Pandian into the party. The CM said for a number of years he has been working hard for the people of Odisha and has earned respect and trust of people and he will continue to do so in the future as a member of the party. 

After joining the party, Pandian said with the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath and under the guidance of the CM, and with cooperation from party leaders he will work selflessly for the people of the State with sincerity, dedication and in a humble manner.
