Jharsuguda-Bengaluru direct flight begins operations

Jharsuguda, Nov 16: Direct flight operations between Jharsuguda in Odisha and Bengaluru officially commenced on Wednesday.
According to reports, an Indigo aircraft from Bengaluru touched down at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda at 12:40 pm, receiving a water salute. Subsequently, the plane departed at 1 pm en route to Bengaluru.
Indigo had previously initiated flight services between Jharsuguda and Kolkata on November 5. The introduction of these services is expected to benefit residents from various parts of western Odisha and adjacent areas in Chhattisgarh.
Jharsuguda airport has observed a rise in passenger numbers, with Spice Jet already offering flights to Kolkata and New Delhi from Veer Surendra Sai Airport. Additionally, Alliance Air operates flights from this airport to Bhubaneswar. Local residents have expressed their delight at the expanding air connectivity, linking them to multiple destinations across the country.
