Yamunotri highway tunnel collapse: Five labourers from Odisha stranded

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Five of the 40 workers trapped in an under-construction tunnel along Uttarakhand's Yamunotri National Highway, following a landslide, have ties to Odisha, as confirmed by the construction firm Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd.
The affected individuals, hailing from different regions in Odisha, include Bisweswar Nayak from Mayurbhanj district, Tapan Mandal from Shankarashanpur in Khurda district, Raju Nayak from Kuldiha in Balasore district, Bhagwan Bhatra from Nabarangpur, and Dhiren from Badakudar in Sambalpur district.
The tunnel, integral to the Char Dham project connecting Silkyara to Dangalgaon, collapsed on Sunday. Uttarakhand's ADG Law and Order AP Anshuman noted no reported fatalities, with NDRf, SDRF, and other rescue teams actively engaged in freeing the trapped labourers.
