Odisha releases additional Rs 20 crore for flood-hit Ganjam
Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: The Odisha government has released an additional Rs 20 crore to flood-affected Ganjam district to intensify disaster response and relief operations following heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone ‘Arnab’. With this latest allocation, the total financial assistance provided to the district has reached Rs 25 crore, an official said on Friday.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Odisha, announced the additional financial assistance through a post on the social media platform X, citing the prevailing flood situation in the district following the cyclonic storm.
“An additional amount of ₹20 crore has been released to Ganjam district as financial assistance for disaster response and relief operations in view of the prevailing flood situation in the aftermath of Cyclonic Storm ‘Arnab’,” the SRC stated.
Earlier, the state government had sanctioned Rs 5 crore to the district to support rescue, relief and emergency response activities.
