President Droupadi Murmu Set to grace Paradip's Boita Bandan Utsav
Bhubaneswar, Nov 10: President Droupadi Murmu will grace the Boita Bandan Utsav organized by Paradip Port Authority on November 27.
In correspondence to Sushil Kumar Singh, joint secretary (IRSME) of the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sampada Mehta, the private secretary to the President of India, confirmed the President’s attendance at the forthcoming event.
“The President will grace the role of Chief Guest at the Boita Bandan function hosted by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on November 27, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Paradip, Odisha,” as stated in the letter.
The Boita Bandan Utsav, celebrated on Kartika Purnima each year, is a vibrant event in Odisha, formerly Kalinga, aiming to celebrate the region's rich ancient maritime legacy. In the past, Kalinga merchants embarked on sea trade with various nations, beginning their voyages in the month of Kartika.
