Cuttack, Nov 10: A daring heist unfolded in the Tigiria area of Cuttack district as masked individuals reportedly looted nearly Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM loading van on Friday. The incident occurred on Godijharia Nua Sadak Road, adjacent to a rice mill under Tigiria police jurisdiction.

Purportedly, a group of more than eight masked culprits, armed and utilizing both an SUV and motorcycles pursued the ATM cash van. They intercepted the van at an isolated location near the rice mill.

Brandishing firearms, the culprits coerced the van's driver to come to a stop. Subsequently, they made off with a trunk allegedly containing over Rs 1.5 crore in cash from the van.

Upon notification, law enforcement officials arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Police authorities have indicated efforts to identify the robbers and have coordinated with neighboring district police forces in this pursuit.
