Bhubaneswar, Sep 23: A woman working as a data entry operator at a private healthcare facility near the Cyber Police Station under Puruna Bazar police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district was found dead inside the hospital premises, triggering tension at the facility.

The deceased has been identified as Seema Sahu, a resident of Karandimal village under Motto outpost and Chandbali police station. She had reportedly joined the healthcare facility on September 9 and had been working there as a data entry operator.

According to her family members, Seema spoke to her mother over the phone on Tuesday night. During the conversation, she allegedly said that she was facing mental harassment and misbehaviour from some staff members at her workplace. The family was informed about her death on Wednesday.

Hospital authorities, however, said that Seema had not lodged any formal complaint regarding harassment or misconduct. They also stated that she was seen inside the hospital campus after her duty hours on Tuesday.

Following the incident, Puruna Bazar Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding her death and are expected to question hospital staff and others associated with the facility.

Tension prevailed on the hospital premises for some time following the incident.
