Odisha steps up UAE investment outreach, showcases industrial and ODOP potential
Bhubaneswar, Sept 9: Odisha on Wednesday intensified its global investment outreach, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi leading a high-level delegation in meetings with prominent UAE business leaders, investors and members of the Indian business community.
During the day-long programme, Majhi and the delegation held a roundtable interaction with the International Holding Company (IHC) and its business verticals and group companies. Discussions focused on identifying investment opportunities and developing partnerships across key sectors in Odisha.
The Chief Minister also interacted with members of the Indian Business and Professional Group (IBPG) in Abu Dhabi, highlighting Odisha’s industrial strengths and potential as an emerging investment destination while seeking to strengthen India-UAE business ties.
A key engagement was the meeting with Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge, where discussions centred on the petrochemicals sector and opportunities for investment and collaboration in Odisha.
The delegation also met leading UAE investment institutions and presented the State’s industrial ecosystem, emerging sectors and investment opportunities.
In Dubai, the delegation inaugurated a display of Odisha’s One District One Product (ODOP) items, showcasing traditional products, handicrafts and local enterprises to UAE consumers.
The delegation later met the Consul General of India in Dubai to discuss ways to deepen Odisha-UAE institutional, business and community linkages.
