Odisha Vigilance unearths crores in disproportionate assets linked to assistant engineer

Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Odisha Vigilance has traced disproportionate assets worth millions during house searches related to Arjun Kumar Sahoo, an Assistant Engineer working in the Rural Works Sub-Division in Salipur, Cuttack district.
The Vigilance has so far traced assets, including two buildings, one of which was a triple-storeyed structure in Bhubaneswar valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, 21 plots of land, deposits totaling over Rs 88.26 lakh, a cash sum of Rs 5.45 lakh, and three four-wheelers, among other possessions.
This morning, simultaneous house searches were conducted at eight locations in Khordha, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Kendrapara , all connected to Sahoo. The operation was carried out by Vigilance sleuths led by 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 8 Inspectors, 7 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other staff. These searches were authorized by search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
The locations searched included a three-storeyed building in Khandagiri Vihar, Lane No.2, plot No. 125/3056, Bhubaneswar; a double-storeyed building in Sadanandapur village under Derabis Tahasil, Kendrapara.
