Woman injured in Range Rover accident passes away in Cuttack hospital

Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: A woman involved in a severe road accident with a Range Rover near Power House Square on October 31 has passed away while under treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack. The deceased has been identified as Lopamudra Sahu.
Lopamudra sustained critical injuries to her head and other parts of her body when the Range Rover collided with the motorcycle they were riding. Initially, she was admitted to Bhubaneswar's Capital Hospital and later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition deteriorated. Meanwhile, Lopamudra's relative, retired CISF Jawan Kahnuchanran Nayak, continues to battle for his life, having also suffered critical injuries.
The driver of the car, Soubhagya Kumar Bas, has been arrested by the police on charges of reckless driving, and the car has been impounded. Notably, the vehicle, with registration number OD-23K0006, is reportedly linked to Armour Ray Ventures Private Limited (ARVPL), a company where Bishal Kumar Das, the son of the late Odisha minister Naba Das, serves as a director.
The incident occurred as the Range Rover was descending from the 120 battalion direction and collided with the two-wheeler at the Power House Square traffic signal. The collision was so severe that both motorcycle riders were thrown from their vehicle onto the busy intersection.
