Over 25,000 students selected in Phase-I SPOT round of Odisha's +2 e-admission process
Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, has successfully completed the Phase-I SPOT Selection under the +2 e-Admission process for the 2026-27 academic session, selecting 25,332 students for admission to higher secondary institutions across the state.
Officials said that 3,786 of the selected candidates are fresh applicants who had failed to secure admission during the first and second selection rounds, providing them another opportunity to pursue higher secondary education.
Among the various streams, Arts recorded the highest number of selections with 14,180 students, followed by Science with 7,226, Commerce with 2,601, Vocational with 1,068, and Sanskrit with 257 students.
A total of 48,536 candidates were considered during the SPOT selection process. Of them, 25,332 secured seats, while 23,204 candidates remained unselected. Following the completion of the first, second and SPOT selection rounds under Phase-I, the total number of candidates yet to receive admission stands at 20,450.
The department further informed that 7,338 students have been allotted seats in their first-choice college and preferred stream. Selected candidates have been advised to visit the SAMS portal to complete admission formalities, including document verification. Details regarding the next phase of the +2 e-Admission process will be announced shortly.
