Naveen inaugurates Rendo Majhi Medical College, launches LAccMI bus service in Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna, Nov 1: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Bhawanipatna, where he unveiled a series of transformative initiatives.
The highlight of his visit was the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Rendo Majhi Medical College, a landmark project with an expenditure of Rs 481 crore. This medical college has received approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) for 100 MBBS seats, bolstering healthcare education in the region.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Patnaik inaugurated the ambitious LAccMI Bus Service, a modern transportation system aimed at enhancing connectivity between rural and urban areas in the district. This innovative service features a fleet of 63 ultra-modern buses, providing efficient transportation between Panchayats, Blocks, and district headquarters.
During his interaction with students, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also announced a significant change – Kalahandi University will now be recognized as Maa Manikeswari University, marking a tribute to the local culture and heritage.
The Chief Minister's visit was accompanied by the unveiling and laying of foundation stones for various developmental projects, collectively valued at more than Rs 1200 crore. These initiatives will play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the region, encompassing diverse sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development.
The inauguration of Rendo Majhi Medical College, the launch of the LAccMI Bus Service, and the announcement of the university's new name signal a promising future for Bhawanipatna and the Kalahandi district, underlining the government's commitment to fostering progress and prosperity in the region.
