PM Modi to visit President Murmu’s native village Pahadpur during Odisha tour on June 20
Bhubaneswar, June 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pahadpur, the native village of President Droupadi Murmu in Mayurbhanj district, on June 20 as part of his day-long visit to Odisha. The visit coincides with the Odisha government's celebrations marking two years of its current term and is being viewed as both a significant political event and a special personal gesture.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Pahadpur carries emotional significance as it comes at the personal invitation of President Murmu. After assuming the office of the President, she had invited Modi to visit her ancestral village, and the Prime Minister accepted the invitation.
According to the proposed schedule, Modi will arrive at the Pahadpur helipad by helicopter at 11:05 am. He is scheduled to visit Goshani Peeth, a revered tribal place of worship, where he will offer prayers and interact with local residents. He will also spend time with students and staff at SLS Memorial School, an institution established by President Murmu in memory of her late husband and son.
After completing his engagements in Pahadpur, the Prime Minister will travel to Dandaposh, where he will address a public gathering and participate in the Odisha government's two-year anniversary programme. President Murmu is also expected to attend the event after arriving in Odisha on June 19.
The district administration has intensified preparations for the high-profile visit, with extensive security arrangements and infrastructure measures being put in place. The visit is expected to draw significant public attention and highlight the growing importance of Mayurbhanj on the national stage.
