Bhubaneswar, June 11: A major railway accident was narrowly averted in Bhubaneswar after two trains reportedly came dangerously close to each other while moving on the same track near the Jharpada bridge area. The incident sparked panic among local residents and commuters, raising serious concerns about railway safety and traffic management.

According to reports, one train was travelling from Bhubaneswar towards Mancheswar, while another train was moving in the opposite direction from Mancheswar to Bhubaneswar. The two trains allegedly found themselves on the same track, creating a potentially disastrous situation and triggering fears of a head-on collision.

Eyewitnesses in the area said the trains appeared to be moving towards each other, causing alarm among people who witnessed the incident. However, timely intervention by railway personnel helped avert a tragedy.

Sources said railway staff acted swiftly after detecting the anomaly and immediately initiated corrective measures. Through prompt coordination and communication between concerned officials, both trains were brought under control, preventing what could have been a major accident.
