Nayagarh, October 26: In a devastating incident, a significant fire erupted at a readymade garment store in Nayagarh, Odisha, causing properties valued at more than Rs 1 crore to be consumed by the flames. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday.

Reports indicate that locals noticed smoke billowing from the shop, which was situated on the first floor of a market complex on Khadpada Road in Nayagarh. They promptly alerted the fire department.

Upon receiving the information, the fire service personnel swiftly arrived at the scene and initiated efforts to extinguish the blaze. After several hours of hard work, four fire-fighting units brought the situation under control on Thursday morning.

While the precise cause of the fire is yet to be determined, preliminary suspicions point towards a potential electrical short-circuit as the source of the mishap. Further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
