Durga Puja 2023: Check traffic restrictions for idol immersion in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Following the conclusion of the Durga Puja festival, the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are gearing up for the idol immersion processions today.
In Bhubaneswar, temporary immersion ponds have been set up at various locations, including the Daya River, Bankual River Ghat, and Kuakhai Riverbank to facilitate the immersion of idols.
In Cuttack, the immersion ceremony will take place at Devi Gada.
To ensure the smooth flow of these processions, the Twin City Commissionerate Police has implemented traffic restrictions.
In Bhubaneswar (from 3 PM until the end of the procession):
• Traffic heading from Vani Vihar towards Rupali Square during the immersion procession organized by the Bhubaneswar Bhasani Utsav Committee at Saheed Nagar will be diverted towards Acharya Vihar.
• No vehicles will be permitted on Janpath; they will be rerouted to Sachivalay Marg and other nearby roads. This restriction will be in effect from 3 PM or the start of the procession, whichever is later, until 1 AM or the conclusion of the procession, whichever is earlier.
• During the immersion procession organized by the Rajdhani Mandir Suraksha Bhasani Samiti in Nayapalli, traffic intending to move towards Cuttack from CRP Square will be redirected via Jaydev Vihar through Ekamra Park and Biju Pattnaik College.
