CM Majhi praises railway transformation in Odisha, thanks Union Minister
Bhubaneswar, April 23: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has lauded the rapid transformation of railway infrastructure in the state and expressed gratitude to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for spearheading the changes.
In a post shared on his official X handle, the Chief Minister highlighted the crucial role of railway development in driving economic growth. He stated that modernization of railway infrastructure is vital not only for Odisha but also for the country’s overall development. He noted that train speeds have increased by nearly 80% in recent years, while major improvements in safety systems and track infrastructure have enhanced passenger convenience and security.
Majhi also emphasised that the adoption of advanced technologies and large-scale track renovations has significantly improved travel experiences. He described the ongoing transformation in the railway sector as unprecedented and essential for achieving the vision of a “Developed India” and a “Prosperous Odisha.”
Accompanying his post, the Chief Minister shared data reflecting remarkable progress in railway modernization and electrification across the state. Several key segments recorded substantial gains, with completion levels ranging between 87.9% and 98.7%.
Officials noted that overall targets in critical modernization and electrification initiatives have reached 100%, marking a major milestone in strengthening Odisha’s transport infrastructure.
