Jajpur, Oct 21: In a heart-wrenching incident, a married couple lost their lives after a train accident at the Baitarini Road station in Odisha's Jajpur district.

The victims have been identified as Ashutosh Sinha and his wife, Laxmipriya Sinha. The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday while they were en route to their village to partake in Dussehra celebrations, according to a report from Jajpur.

The deceased couple, originally from Barundei village within the jurisdiction of Korei police station in the district, had been residing in Baripada. Their journey back to their village for the festive occasion took a tragic turn. After disembarking from a train at the Baitarani Road station, Ashutosh and Laxmipriya were in the process of crossing the railway tracks when a train collided with them, resulting in their immediate demise, as per sources.

Following the horrific incident, the Government Railway Police (RPF) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) swiftly responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate accident.
