Twist in infant abduction case: Father turns out to be mastermind
Bhubaneswar, April 9: A major twist has emerged in the alleged kidnapping of a four-month-old baby boy from Nirakarpur Railway Station in Khordha district, with the child’s father now identified as the main conspirator behind the incident.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued the infant from Kalamatia village under Ranpur police limits in Nayagarh district late on Tuesday night. The rescue came after a swift investigation into the complaint initially filed by the child’s father, Prashant Kumar Pradhan.
Pradhan, along with his second wife, had claimed that their infant was stolen from the railway platform while they were asleep. However, police investigations revealed that he himself had taken the child and later handed him over to his first wife at his ancestral home.
Further probe uncovered that Pradhan had married his sister-in-law as his second wife, and the infant was born from this relationship.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind staging the abduction, while the child has been safely recovered.
