Jual Oram, CM Majhi discuss Rourkela Airport, steel plant expansion and President’s visit
Bhubaneswar, April 7: Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to discuss key development issues concerning Rourkela.
The meeting focused on three major areas: expansion of Rourkela Airport, proposed expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant, and preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of India to the city. According to sources, Oram reviewed the progress of land acquisition for the airport expansion project and emphasised the need for timely execution.
Both leaders also held detailed discussions on the expansion plans of the steel plant, which is expected to boost industrial growth and employment in the region. Additionally, they reviewed arrangements for the President’s proposed visit to Rourkela scheduled for April 21, ensuring adequate preparations for the high-profile कार्यक्रम.
On the occasion, the Union Minister thanked the Chief Minister and the state government for implementing reservation provisions for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes in higher education.
The meeting is seen as a positive step towards accelerating key infrastructure and industrial projects in the Rourkela region.
