IMD predicts rise in day temperature across Odisha, rain and thunderstorms likely

Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual increase in maximum (day) temperatures across Odisha by 2–4°C over the next two days, with no major change expected thereafter. The update comes as part of its latest Farmers’ Weather Bulletin, offering guidance for both residents and the agricultural community.

According to IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at one or two places across several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundergarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal. Meanwhile, dry weather is expected to prevail in the remaining districts over the next 24 hours.

The department has also issued a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations, particularly in northern and southern districts.

Temperatures are likely to hover around 36°C during the day and 24°C at night. IMD has advised people, especially farmers and outdoor workers, to remain cautious and take necessary precautions during adverse weather conditions.
