CBSE issues advisory ahead of Class X & XII Board Exams 2026
Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an advisory for schools, parents, and students ahead of the 2026 Class X and XII Board Examinations, urging candidates to reach their examination centres well in advance to avoid last-minute delays.
As per the official communication dated February 13, 2026, the Board examinations will commence from February 17. This year, over 46 lakh students from across India and 26 countries abroad are scheduled to appear, making it one of the largest examination exercises conducted by the Board.
CBSE stated that exams will begin at 10:30 AM, and candidates must reach their respective centres on or before 10:00 AM. Entry into examination halls will not be allowed after 10:00 AM under any circumstances.
The Board also noted that several national and international summits, high-level meetings, and major events are planned during the examination period. Resulting traffic diversions, restrictions, and congestion may affect travel time.
Students have been advised to leave home early, plan routes carefully, and visit centres beforehand. Schools have been directed to actively guide families to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
