SJTA holds second Panjika reconciliation meeting for 2026–27; ensures error-free festival calendar
Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: The second reconciliation meeting for the Panjika (almanac) for the 2026–27 calendar year concluded on Tuesday at the office of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), with officials reaffirming that all festival and ritual details will be accurate and free from discrepancies.
Addressing mediapersons after the meeting, SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee said detailed deliberations were held to finalize the precise dates of rituals, festivals, and yatras associated with the Shree Jagannath Temple. He stressed that no errors would be tolerated in the upcoming Panjika publications, given their deep religious significance.
Padhee informed that five publishers—Kohinoor, Radharaman, Bhagyadeep, Arunodaya, and G.N. Tripathi—have received official approval from the SJTA to publish the almanac with authenticated information.
“All Yatra processions will begin from Mahavishuva Sankranti, and preparations have been finalized for major rituals up to Badi Nrusimha Bije in 2027,” he stated. He also warned of strict action against any institution found publishing incorrect festival or ritual information.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Muktimandap Pandit Sabha, Pujapanda Nijog, temple officials, managing committee members, and senior SJTA administrators.
