CM Mohan Charan Majhi launches Odia science reference books for Class XI students
Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched Odia science reference books for Class XI students at Lok Seva Bhawan, marking a major step towards strengthening education in the mother tongue. The books have been prepared by the School and Mass Education Department and cover key subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
According to official sources, the state government plans to distribute 10 to 20 copies of these reference books to each high school, where they will be made available in libraries for students’ use. In addition, the Institute of Odia Studies & Research will ensure that the books are available for sale at designated centres in district headquarters. Around 1.20 lakh students from nearly 700 schools across Odisha are expected to benefit from this initiative.
The government has also announced plans to prepare Odia science reference books for Class XII in the next phase. With this, the state aims to make quality reference material available in Odia from primary education up to higher education.
The launch event was attended by several senior dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, multiple cabinet ministers, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and Chief Secretary Anu Garg, highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting Odia-language education.
