Subhadra Scheme aid to be credited on January 22, over 4.5 lakh women to benefit
Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: The Odisha government has announced that financial assistance under the Subhadra scheme will be credited to the bank accounts of newly registered beneficiaries on January 22. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared the update through a post on social media platform X, confirming the revised schedule for the disbursement.
Under the scheme, eligible women receive Rs 5,000 as direct financial support aimed at empowering them economically and strengthening household incomes. The initiative has been widely welcomed as a significant step towards women’s welfare and financial independence.
Initially, the government had planned to release the assistance on January 18. However, the date was rescheduled to ensure proper verification of beneficiary details and inclusion of all eligible applicants. Officials said the additional time was required to complete data validation and address pending grievances.
Around 4,57,681 women across Odisha are expected to benefit in this phase. This includes newly registered beneficiaries, women whose names were reinstated, and those added during grievance redressal hearings.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to transparent and timely delivery of welfare benefits to deserving women under the Subhadra scheme.
