CM Mohan Charan Majhi issues 15-point directive to speed up governance on first day of 2026
Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: On the first day of the New Year 2026, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a comprehensive 15-point directive aimed at energising the state’s administrative machinery and accelerating decision-making across all departments. The move is seen as a clear signal of the government’s intent to ensure efficiency, accountability and faster implementation of policies.
Sources said the directives were formally communicated to the newly appointed Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, with instructions to treat priority tasks with urgency and work towards achieving clearly defined targets. The Chief Minister emphasised that all departments must function in a coordinated manner to deliver timely results on the ground.
According to the directive, the state has set an ambitious goal of building a “prosperous Odisha” by 2036 and positioning itself among the top five developed states in the country. To achieve this, the government plans to follow a mixed-economy approach, with special emphasis on industrial growth, faster project clearances at the district level and the time-bound filling of government vacancies.
As part of the 15-point agenda, district collectors have been instructed to fast-track key administrative and development processes to minimise procedural delays. The Chief Minister also stressed strict timelines for implementing decisions, especially those related to investment proposals and public service delivery, to boost growth and improve governance outcomes.
