Four killed as cattle-laden truck overturns in Sambalpur

Samabalpur, Oct 13: In a tragic incident, four individuals lost their lives when a truck transporting cattle overturned in Burla, located in Odisha's Sambalpur district, during the late hours of last night.
As of now, the identities of the deceased remain unknown.
According to reports, the accident occurred at Katapali Chowk, situated along National Highway No. 53 within the jurisdiction of the Burla police. At the time of the mishap, a truck loaded with cattle had come to a halt at Katapali Chowk, where the driver and other crew members were preparing a meal in front of their vehicle.
Meanwhile, another speeding truck, en route from Bargarh to Sambalpur, collided with the stationary cattle truck from the rear before hastily departing the scene. Regrettably, this collision caused the cattle-laden truck to overturn, leading to the tragic loss of four lives and injuring two more.
Upon receiving the distressing news, law enforcement, along with personnel from the Fire Services, swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate a rescue mission. The injured individuals were promptly transported to Burla Hospital in critical condition. Authorities also took custody of the deceased victims and arranged for post-mortem examinations.
