Two killed, one critically injured as speeding bike crashes into divider in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: In a heart-wrenching road accident, two youths lost their lives while another sustained severe injuries after a speeding motorcycle crashed into a divider at Sridevi Chhak in the Badagada area of Bhubaneswar during the early hours of Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Pritiranjan Jena and Subham Nayak, both residents of Panitanki Basti under the Badagada police limits.
The tragic incident occurred between 2 am and 3 am, when the three friends were reportedly travelling towards Puri on a motorcycle. According to preliminary reports, the bike, moving at high speed, lost control and rammed into the road divider. The impact was so severe that Pritiranjan and Subham died instantly, while their third friend suffered critical injuries.
Local residents, awakened by the crash, immediately alerted the Laxmisagar Police, who rushed to the scene. The police recovered the bodies and sent them to Capital Hospital for post-mortem. The injured youth was also shifted for urgent medical treatment.
The Laxmisagar Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether speeding, road conditions, or other factors contributed to the fatal crash.
