Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three youths on Friday morning near Gobindpur along National Highway 55 in Dhenkanal district. The incident occurred when the scooter they were riding collided with an unidentified vehicle, leading to their instantaneous death. The severity of the impact left the scooter badly damaged, and the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.

According to initial reports, the driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene immediately after the crash, raising suspicions that the vehicle may have been speeding or carrying out a dangerous manoeuvre. Locals alerted the authorities soon after discovering the victims lying unresponsive on the road.

Upon receiving the information, Sadar police rushed to the spot, seized the mangled scooter, and began preliminary investigation. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased youths and trace the vehicle involved. Officers are examining possible CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking to residents who may have witnessed the incident.

The police have assured that all angles are being probed and that attempts are being made to locate the hit-and-run driver. The investigation continues.
