Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: A tragic incident unfolded in Jagatsinghpur town on Tuesday morning after a college student was found dead inside a private mess near the Nabakrushna Choudhury Stadium. The deceased, identified as Om Prakash Acharya, was a Plus III third-year student of S.V.M. Autonomous College and had reportedly visited the mess to meet a friend staying there.

According to sources, Om Prakash decided to spend the night in one of the vacant rooms of the mess. However, when his friend checked on him the next morning, he was shocked to find Om Prakash hanging from the ceiling. The unexpected discovery has left fellow students and locals deeply distressed.

Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that the incident may be a case of suicide. However, the exact circumstances leading to the young student's death remain unclear. The police have registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for post-mortem to determine the cause with certainty.
